Douglas Fairbanks was born in Denver Colorado as Douglas Elton Thomas Ullman. Fairbanks began his career in the theater, performing in the Denver ametur theater. Douglas became a teen star on the stage, but not at school. Fairbanks was expelled from his school for decorating the statues on St. Patricks Day, and he left during his senior year. Afterward, Fairbanks attended the Colorado School of Mines, where he was asked to leave after various pranks.
Fairbanks signed a contract with Triangle Pictures in 1915 and starred in his first movie called "The Lamb" and gained recognition for his athletic skills and adventerous ability in movies. After the boss of Triangle didn't recognize Fairbanks abilities in the way he wanted to be, Fairbanks began his own movie producing company in 1916. Douglas met Mary Pickford, and they began an affair, then soon became married. The couple was known as "Hollywood Royality" and they entertained many guests at their estate called Pickfair.
Fairbanks died in December 1939 due to a fatal heart attack.
